InnerScapes
The Story Behind InnerScapes
Two healers with a shared vision. A sanctuary built from decades of devotion to the ancient arts of movement, energy healing and sacred ceremony.
Our Story
Born from a Shared Calling
InnerScapes began not as a business plan, but as a conversation — one that stretched across 5 years of shared practice, late evenings in sacred ceremonies setting intentions for our future, and quiet mornings doing push hands.. We are a couple bound not only by love, but by a deep and mutual calling to serve the healing of others in our own ways as well as together.
For decades we each walked our own path: one through the discipline of martial arts and the flowing stillness of Taiji, the other through energy work, womb awakening and ancient/ethereal meditations and the subtle frequencies that move through all living things. Over time, those paths converged — and InnerScapes was born from that convergence.
We've opened our doors because we have seen, again and again, what happens when people are given a true sanctuary. When the noise of the world falls away and something deeper is allowed to surface. We wanted to create that space — not just for ourselves, but for everyone who finds their way here.
The Practitioners
Two Paths of Healing
"Training with Steven shaped who I am — teaching me that martial arts is a lifelong journey of discipline, confidence, and personal growth that extends far beyond the mat."
Flowing Dragon Martial Arts
Steven
My path into the martial and healing arts began in 1990 and has never stopped. Sharing learned lessons is my art in life. For more than three decades, I have studied Korean, Japanese, and Chinese traditions, continually digging deeper into the ancient wisdom underlying these arts. Along the way, I have built a living foundation through training in more than ten internal martial lineages and creatively modifying my practice as I grow. While each lineage carries its own distinct character, they share a common discipline: the cultivation of body, mind, breath, awareness, and intention. Many draw from the study of animals and from elemental principles expressed through Water, Earth, Air, Wood, and Fire. Rather than treating these traditions as separate systems, my journey has been one of discovering the connections between them—how different methods can reveal the same underlying principles, and how martial practice can become a path toward healing, balance, and deeper understanding.
In 1996 my journey took an unexpected turn when a motorcycle accident shattered my pelvis. What followed was not just a physical recovery — it became the most transformative chapter of my life. Conventional medicine offered limited answers, and so I turned inward. Beginning in 1997, Martial arts became my medicine, my teacher, and ultimately my calling. The slow, deliberate cultivation of internal energy did what surgery alone could not: it rebuilt me from the inside out. That experience is the living heart of everything I teach.
I teach not technique alone, but the living intelligence that animates each movement — and how it can be adapted to your body, your history, and your needs. Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the first time or returning to deepen a lifelong practice, I meet you exactly where you are and walk with you from there.

It is an honor to connect with you here. My work stems from a deep-rooted fascination from a young age. At age 12, I began seeing and hearing into different dimensions and was drawn to all books on spirituality — which led me to a passion for internal change and growth, for individuals, for the planet, and beyond into the Cosmos and far reaching Multiverses.
That path was deepened irrevocably when my sister passed away at age 21, when I was 19 — in my arms. Holding her in those final moments cracked something open in me that could never be closed again. Grief of that magnitude either breaks you or becomes a doorway. For me, it became the doorway. It forged in me a fierce and tender understanding of the threshold between worlds, the sacredness of the body, and the profound courage it takes to truly heal.
My 51-year earthly journey, enriched by many concurrent and past-life experiences, has gifted me with unparalleled inner and energetic strength, laser focus, unique wisdom, and a deeply honoring intuition for intense transformation and healing. I have walked through the fire — and I know how to walk with you through yours. Come join me.
For 17 years I have been doing this kind of energy work — guiding people into opening to higher levels of consciousness. In 2012, I had the profound privilege of working with Brookes Greene Barton, who passed on the Lineage of teaching this work to me. That transmission has been the living foundation of everything I offer in the Openings work.
The Youla Method is something I have been cultivating for almost a year now. Its formation is loosely based on the teachings of Max Christensen, woven together with my own years of somatic and energetic practice into a unique pathway for deep healing and accelerated inner transformation.

Our Philosophy
Healing Is Already Within You
We do not believe healing is something done to you. We believe it is something awakened within you — and that the role of a true healer is simply to create the conditions in which that awakening becomes possible. How you create your own form of healing is your true gift.
Every practice we offer — from the slow arc of a Taiji form to the resonance of your hands finding your center — is designed with one intention: to help you return to yourself. To the quiet intelligence of your own body. To the natural flow of energy that is your birthright.
We hold this space with reverence. Every person who walks through our door carries a story, a wound, a longing, or a question. We receive all of it with care — and we walk with you, at your pace, for as long as the journey calls.
Reverence
We approach every session, every student, every client with deep respect for the intelligence of life.
Presence
We are fully here — not distracted, not hurried. Your session is sacred time, and we honor it as such.
Wholeness
We treat the whole person — body, energy field, mind, and spirit — never just the symptom.
Gentleness
Healing does not require force. We move at the pace of trust, and we never push beyond what feels right.
"Healing is not something done to you — it is something awakened within you."
Come and See for Yourself
The best way to understand what we offer is to experience it. Book a session, ask a question, or simply come and sit in the space. You are welcome here.
